ABOUT WPL GOVERNANCE

The WPL is a player run league utilizing a Board of Directors with 4 appointed members, 1-2 team representatives from each WPL team, as well as 1-2 representatives from USA Rugby. All major decisions are made through a process of research, discussion, and voting conducted by the WPL board together.

The WPL has an annual general meeting each year at the conclusion of the WPL Championships where a large portion of decisions for the upcoming year of competition are made, with other issues as they arise being discussed on monthly or quarterly calls.

LEAGUE COMMISSIONER

Milla Sanes

Milla Sanes has served as the Commissioner of the WPL since the start of 2016. Prior to her role as Commissioner, Milla served as the WPL’s Membership Director for two years. In addition to her roles on the WPL Governing Council, she served on the DC Furies’ Executive Board for five years. Milla played with the DC Furies.

Ali has served as the Marketing & Sponsorship Director since 2016. Ali is a current player for the Twin Cities Amazons and is an assistant coach for the University of Minnesota Women’s rugby team.
